Beach Bums for a morning

What an adorable family - they really couldn't be any cuter! And the morning couldn't have been prettier -- we had the weather on our side just before the rains set in! We had been trying to get this scheduled for the longest time, and think it was totally worth the wait. We played and ran and danced, and my guess is the kids had the longest nap on the way home!

So here he is 9 months ago - he was just a little peanut -- sweet, calm, beautiful! I was expecting to see him more grown after this many months, expecting him to be stunningly beautiful (check out the parents and you'll see why I had my expectations high) -- but when they opened the front door and he looked up at me, it nearly took my breath away!! Check out one of the last images -- his eyes are as blue and clear as I have ever seen!:) And so sweet and calm and absolutely the most giggly, happy little guy! Every time I'm around this family, I just want to linger for a little longer. This time, it was an even bigger treat personally, one set of the grandparents were there and they both are just as wonderful as J and M. (and truly -- I'm the second shooter for this family -- M's Dad is an accomplished, award winning photographer.)

I can't believe this sweet girl has turned one! Where did this year go? She came into this world a little earlier than expected and fit right into this unbelievably beautiful family. I've loved getting to follow along this year and am grateful for the friendship I have with these guys -- they couldn't have more gorgeous children!

Mom really should have been a stylist -- and we had a blast playing dress up (I didn't even include the fairytale-like-formal-dinner-party dress!!)

Anybody remember the Wrigley's Doublemint commercials? I always think of those when I get the privilege of shooting twins! I think this is the first time I've gotten to photograph a newborn set of twins that are a boy and a girl -- and with the most adorable big sister as well! I've gotten to capture three sets of boy twins from birth -- and I have two sets of triplets I adore! But I got to pull out all those matching boy/girl hats I've been anxiously storing away and waiting to use!

And it couldn't have been more worth the wait..... all 3 of this kids are beautiful!! I don't know how the parents looked so relaxed!!

Like a fairytale! I loved getting to have this extra portrait session with C and L. I was honored to get to photograph their wedding - but Mother Nature played a bit of a nasty trick on us and sent torrential rains. We missed getting to photograph outside and get the amazing portraits these two deserved - so we dressed up and had a redo!

As always their sweet and fun personalities made this another dream session! Congratulations you two - and thanks for a great afternoon together! These two are so kind and calm with each other - I know they will have a lifetime of happiness.

What a special way to start the New Year. I LOVED this shoot!! I say it often, but it bears repeating -- there is no greater energy than a big family shoot. BUT you get a big family shoot with all of this testosterone going -- and the razzing and joking just goes to another level of fun completely! These guys were great! We shot only the guys and all around their father/grandfather - loved that they did this!

((I realized as I left it reminded me of when I was growing up -- my father was one of four boys and two of his brothers had four boys. Every summer, my mom would pack me up and send me over to my cousins. I spent 2-3 weeks with my aunt and uncle and their four boys in the mountains in Oregon (they were all forest firefighters). I was the youngest by 5 years... you can only imagine the fun and laughing and RAZZING at the dinner table each night!! IT WAS A BLAST!!! This felt a little like home being around these guys and watching what amazing memories they must be making together.))

Hope you enjoy these, P Family! You were a blast to work with -- and so willing to work with jumping in and out of cars to avoid the rain!

This was amazing... look a few posts down and you'll see that I literally JUST photographed their maternity session. The timing couldn't have been more perfect! But I'm starting to wonder if that's just sort of the karma of these two. I've never had a newborn shoot go more smoothly. This little guy was WIDE AWAKE when I arrived and within a few minutes he fell into the sweetest and deepest slumber and we had an incredible time photographing his first portraits. The parents are beyond beautiful and more in love with this little guy. It was so touching... you could just see how amazed and in awe of their new little boy they both were. I hope I was able to capture even a quarter of that emotion and beauty. Welcome little guy - I think you will be so loved and welcomed. May all your life be so wonderful!

How grateful I am for the friends we have made in Miami and how lucky we are to have gotten to know this family. They are beyond wonderful. Funny how this was the first time in a long time that I felt nervous going to a shoot!! I wanted everything to be so perfect for them as they had this rare chance to be all together at one time and as they welcome into their family two beautiful new family members, and the chance to get to capture a few special moments that I hope they will cherish for a lifetime.

Big Family Fun

I love getting to photograph big families!! I start to really look forward to this time of year around the holidays because people always book the multi-family sessions because of all the family traveling into town and the opportunity of catching everyone together. There is this fun energy of grown up siblings getting together -- the razzing that never seems to stop even when you are a parent and have become this responsible adult. But now it's always a little bit of a sweet ribbing and razzing. I think it makes me look forward to when my own children will grow up and come home with their own families -- things may change a little, but some pieces will always remain that comfortable bond forged by years of growing up together as a family.

What a great start - the eyes just make you want to stop and stay awhile!! and yes - that is her pure cream skin -- what we all wouldn't give to have skin so flawless!!:) but then you see her mom and grandma and know that it's obviously been handed through the family tree. Loved getting to meet everyone! more sweet images!

being around a couple in love is always such a great way to start the day! these two aren't only stunningly tall and good-looking, they are as nice as can be. they are so easy to be around -- it feels as if they are two old souls that have been together forever and have already gotten to that comfort level that you get the feeling that there aren't many ripples in the water with these two.

I love getting to know the families that ask me to be a part of documenting little pieces of their lives. It's even more fun to get to join them on the journey the second time around!! I met the B Family when they contacted me to do a Bellies to Babies package for the arrival of their first little one together. These guys are always fun and wonderful - they are so sweet and easy going. This new little guy is as adorable and sweet as the entire family (even not wanting to sleep - he was totally a doll !!!)

it's been awhile...it's always a little crazy this time of year with getting ready for school to start - then we threw in being gone to NY for a week, an amazing wedding in Hawk's Cay, two birthday celebrations (whew:!!) -- I've neglected the blog! What a great way to get back to it - starting with these two beautiful girls. They were awesome and I loved the Jackie O style white dresses!

I really have to thank this sweet family -we got rained out the most I've ever had with a single family:)! But think it was totally worth it... love love love the sweet images and moments we were able to capture. They dodged mosquitoes, sweat and still laughed almost the entire session!! What a beautiful family!!

V looks like a true princess - but the best part is that her beauty starts from within and radiates outward. I was honored to get to photograph V for her headshots (she is a Bluedog student http://bluedogacting.com/ ) and was so excited when they called to book for her quince photos. As hot as it was, with 6 million mosquitoes, she never complained or tired of being in front of the camera. She is a true beauty!

I wasn't entirely sure that I would have a shoot this morning with E & D - the due date for their little guy is in ONE WEEK!!! yes - one week - :)! doesn't E look incredible? I was half expecting to get a call saying that they had gone into the hospital!

I had a blast with these two and am so excited to spend the next year with them - they are so sweet!

so we made a trade - I got to photograph a shot mom and I wanted for a shot that dad wanted desperately ~ you'll see why I say it's a big trade. I thought I could just quietly take the shot, can it -- but then mom actually dared me (double dog dare might have been the exact words:!!) to post the image to the blog....... ok, T, never can back down from a dare. Happy birthday to this beautiful wife, mom, sister, friend ~ it was so touching to see how loved D is. I had the honor of getting to photograph a family portrait session and the start of D's 60th birthday celebration. Although I was nervous about the 3 under 2 factor - it really didn't end up being a factor at all... I LOVE their family image.

I had an absolute blast with these two - just sweet as can be with me, with each other, with everyone that we came into contact with. It was such a fun morning and I loved getting to meet M and S - even more excited for their August wedding!

at first they seem world's different - he's from Scotland, she's from Ecuador - she loves beach, he isn't fond of sand! but after hanging out with them for a few hours, I think they are a match made in heaven and I'm even concerned my fondness for them will translate into getting choked up as they come down the aisle!!! Keep an eye out for their wedding blog post - kilts, bagpipes, more sand!! this is seriously a wedding I am anxiously awaiting!!!

The most amazing cool couple - LOVED getting to photograph L&N!! The chemistry between these two was electric:) I actually felt like I was doing the still shots for some vintage musical! These two were so much fun and beyond easy to photograph.

(I'll be up editing all night for a week - so many incredible shots!)
